  • Industry Experience in the field of Product development in Automobile BIW
  •  Worked in the field of Design & Manufacturing of sheet metal Automobile components at PE-CAE and ERC of Tata Motors Ltd (Pune) and JLR
  • Training and hands on experience on CATIA, PRO-E, EUCLID, AutoCAD, SOLID-WORKS, TEBIS, MaterCAM, SAP, PLM TEAM-CENTRE, AUTO-FORM, ANSYS and LabView software.

Project Details undertaken at TATA MOTORS Ltd. :

1. Draw Surface Modelling and Formability Analysis of Underbody sheet Metal components of Land Rover vehicle (Job Role: Analyst)
From concept to full 3D Geometric Design, Material selection to testing work was done, for a SUV segment vehicle of Jaguar and Land Rover at TATA MOTORS premises.
2. Die Design for cutting and forming operations for Sheet metal components, Floor and Cross Member (L550 Land rover). (Job Role: Die Designer)

  • Method planning and full Die design activity
  • Preparing component flow path on press line to ensure approach of robots for component handling (one press station to other).
  • Automation of Tooling on Robotic Press line such as component Auto loading, sensing & Ejection.

3. Tool Design for sheet metal components of TATA MOTORS vehicles.
(Job Role: Die Designer and Checker)
Designing of Dies (Total 30 TOOLS) designed for various sheet metal components of BIW (eg. Floor, Door, Roof, Body Side for Products like TATA XENON, PRIMA, ACE, VISTA, ULTRA,WINGER etc.
4. Designing of Inspection fixtures (15 Tools) for sheet metal component checking.
(Job Role: Team Lead)
Development of Inspection Scheme for sheet metal components to take care of
Trim, Hole & Flush requirements, GD&T requirement of BIW and Manufacturing process requirements of subassemblies

5. Draw Surface Modelling and Formability Analysis of Underbody sheet Metal components of Tata Motors vehicle (Job Role: Analyst).
Draw surface development and Method plan for Panels like Fire wall, A-Pillar etc
6.Scoring marks study on sheet metals in Flanging & wiping dies.”
(Job Role: Guide for Project Trainee)
The work involved Cause and Effect analysis of scoring on sheet metal components. An experimental die was designed containing 4 materials as tool steels (in the same die to produce U section channel) to study the effect of various parameters on scoring/galling.
7. Spring Back Analysis
(Job Role: Member of Cross Functional Team (CFT))
The work involved developing cad data from digitized scanned data of manufactured components, Analysing the difference and obtaining a spring back correction factor as per the deviation analysis results & Mathematical Correction Formulation.

8. “3D FOR ALL”, Initiative for an all 3D design concept in Die design and manufacturing.
(Job Role: Member of Cross Functional Team (CFT))
Paperless design concept, Elimination of 2D drawings at design & manufacturing level, Introduction of PLM for design and JT viewing for down the line agencies.

9. 3D Surfacing & CNC Programming
(Job Role: CNC Part Programmer)
Development of NC Surface from 2D designs & CNC Program generation for 3-axis & 5-axis machining for Dies, Inspection Fixtures and Thermocol Patterns.
