The Student’s Chapter of The Institution of Engineers (India) of Don Bosco College of Engineering, is formed to encourage mechanical students in the engineering domain.  IEI was established in 1920 and is world’s largest multi-disciplinary engineering professional society. Numerous workshops, filed visits, expert talks, seminar etc. have been organized. More than 150 students are members of the student’s chapter.

Inauguration of “The Institution of Engineers (India)”
The DBCE Student’s Chapter (Mechanical Engineering) of “The Institution of Engineers (India)” was inaugurated at Don Bosco college of Engineering, Fatorda on 12th March 2016 by Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, DBCE. Mr. Gerard D’Mello, Chairman IEI, Goa State Center, Mr. Yogesh Bhobe, Secretary, IEI, Goa State Center, Prof Ajit Salunke, HOD- Mechanical & Faculty Advisor and other office bearers of the Goa State Center were present on the occasion. The Chapter installed under the guidance of The Institution of Engineers (India), Goa state Center has 154 student members from all the four years of Mechanical Engineering.IMG-20160227-WA0006

Mr. Gerard D’Mello appreciated the Mechanical Engineering Department for the overwhelming response from the students towards the formation of the Chapter and advised students to become life members of the Institution after passing out as engineers. He also congratulated the students of First Batch for securing 3 Gold Medals at Goa University and complimented the Management and staff. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz said that IEI has a worldwide presence and student members can interact with prominent industry professionals. Mr. Yogesh Bhobe proposed the vote of thanks.

The Chapter Committee was installed with Jollysha A.S. Moraes of third year as the Convenor. The other members of the committee are Harshit Tiwari, Aditya Vijay Gavade, Movil Carvalho, Joel Colaco, Joshua. E. Dias Sapeco, Savant Pranav Dattatraya, Vivek Kumar, Chaim Savio Gomes and Akshay Naik.
