ISHRAE Chapter
The Student’s Chapter of Indian Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) of Don Bosco College of Engineering connect students to the Refrigeration and Air conditioning industry. ISHRAE was founded in 1981 and have more than 12000 members. Various events like expert talks, industrial visits, seminars, workshops etc are conducted. Students are benefited from ISHRAE job junction, ThermoFEST, AQuest etc. More than 30 students are members of this student chapter.
ISHRAE Report: Report on Installation of CWC ISHRAE DBCE chapter (2021-22)
The Mechanical Engineering Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda installed the Chapter Working Committee of the ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) DBCE Students Chapter for the Academic Year 2021-22 on 25th September 2021. The installation was graced by Chief Guest and the keynote speaker for the event Mr. Jerome Lobo, Engineering System Improvement Professional; Ex- Chief Engineer, The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (Taj Hotels), Guest of Honour Mr. Sunil Shetye, President – ISHRAE Goa Chapter. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, Dr Neena Panandikar, Principal and Prof. Ajit Salunke, Faculty Advisor & HOD, Department of Mechanical Engineering were also present for the function.
Prof Ajit Salunke initiated with guidelines regarding ISHRAE and the work contributed by the community to reach out to students interested in HVAC&R by providing technical and practical exposure. Furthermore Dr. Neena Panandikar motivated the students to go forward in collaboration with ISHRAE by getting involved in various competitions and technical events. Rev Fr. Kinley stimulated all the members to participate and make the best use of the opportunity provided. Mr. Sunil Shetye (President of ISHRAE Goa Chapter) elucidated the main objective of ISHRAE by listing the benefits they furnish like conducting webinars, industrial visits, study material and placement opportunities which will be held in October. Additionally all the efforts put forward by Prof Tanay Rege was appreciated for encouraging the students to be a member of one of the most active societies. It was a matter of great pride for us to have the chief guest as Mr. Jerome Lobo who enlightened us about the upcoming technology, moreover the Thermofest 2021 was announced and Prof Ajit Salunke elaborated and explained more about the event.
Prof. Tanay Rege, Student Chair, ISHRAE Goa Chapter, administered the oath to the newly elected Chapter Working Committee, comprising of Mr. Rajay Naik – President, Mr Keenan Q. V. Costa Cardozo – Secretary, Mr. Bradley Rodrigues – Treasurer, President Elect- Ms. Ayisha Shaik and CWC members, Mr. Raj Telang, Mr. Ikram M. Saudagar and Mr. Samuel Carvalho.
The event concluded with Mr. Rajay Naik, President – ISHRAE DBCE Students Chapter, proposing the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Prof. Tanay Rege and Prof Sharad Shanbag.
